Eleni Karakosta studied Psychology and holds a postgraduate degree in Palliative Care from Cardiff University Medical School. She has been working with children and families since 1993 as child psychologist and counselor. In her career, for more than 20 years she has been practicing privately and has also  worked for educational institutions focusing on children with learning difficulties, ADHD and autism. As a family counselor she has assisted families and teachers to handle the everyday challenges of raising and educating children. She has participated in numerous scientific seminars as a guest speaker and has delivered plenty of keynotes to companies and individuals on topics related to the complex and fascinating issues of parenthood. Her interest on families faced with problems led her to be actively engaged with Palliative Care. She works closely with institutions specialized in Palliative Care such as «Galilaia” and “Merimna” as researcher and counselor to families and patients (adults & children) suffering from life threatening illnesses. She is a member of the British Psychological Society and a member of the Greek Society for Pediatric Palliative Care.

She is married and has two daughters aged 21 and  7.  During the last few years she has been  living in the UAE and Greece balancing her professional and personal life while supporting her family  being afar but never apart .
